Doomsday has almost arrived.

Story is almost done. However…

Characters can be a real pain in the ass, you know? You come to accept the fact that they aren’t going to say anything relevant until – if like me, you wrote the ending of the story first – they realize its the home-stretch. Then they’re like goddamn chattering magpies. It’s as if they know they’ve got limited space to spill their guts before the black void of THE END swallows them up.

No, I am not writing another 5k to accomodate your lazy butts. NO, mister misc character–you didn’t get page space in 80% of the story for a reason. Take yourself back to that plot hole you’ve been skulking in and STAY THERE. ARGHHHH.

I am going to finish this.

I AM.

Half of the story feels like it’s utter crap.

My fantasy book collection is mainly comprised of fairy tales. I adore them: classic or modern, light or dark, short or long. I can rattle off the names of ten fantastic fairy tale writers in ten seconds. Why am I unable to create one to my satisfaction?

Anyway, that’s a moot point. I am writing the rest of the words that need to be written tonight. One hurdle met. Then from the 30th to the 4th I will edit and revise and probably re-write a good chunk of it. It’s getting done, though, even if I have to threaten my characters with write-outs (which is essentially when I go, whoops where did that cliff come from? and, too bad, I didn’t write you in a pair of wings).

Enough said. I will leave you all with a quote:

If your characters won’t work with you, f*** hand-holding. Terrorize the shit out of ’em.

Oh, my dear, I don’t know whether to give you my congratulations or my condolences. The first piece is always exciting though, because you realize you can put the pictures in your head (and for some people, voices, LOL) into words. My first ST fic was officially titled Untitled. :) So Things is perfectly acceptable. But I imagine you’ll probably change it as the story develops. That pic is perfectly accurate. I have a cat who sits exactly where it isn’t supposed or is in your face when you least want it around. It’s one of their extraordinary senses, I believe. :) -sigh- I’ve been misspelling words all day. My brain power is dwindling rapidly…

Oh Absolutely, sometimes you just have to rage against it before you can really pull it out of your head. I’m still attempting to do the Nano goal of writing 50k words in 30 days (I’m already behind, but that’s because I sat for two days doing planning/outlining). Cats are definitely that way. My mom’s orange tom always manages to sit on the one black thing on the room to cover it in fur! Aw, don’t feel bad, it’s been one of those weeks. Can’t believe December is right around the corner.
