The Addict is Back, Everybody Run!

Okay, so I write Kirk/Spock/McCoy, lots of it, probably more than any other author in the Trek fandom. I also maintain ksm_ot3 because I’m crazy and I know how it feels to desperately search for a rarely written pairing and come up empty-handed.

But, y’all…

I need more.

Is there anything out there I’ve missed, anything that will put a smile on my face right now? ‘Cause I really, really am craving my OT3 and writing it myself just won’t satisfy me in the same way.

Please?

If I knew of any new stuff, I would totally report! I’m not very active in the fandom right now… exerpt from my ksvalentine that could be taken as pre-OT3? – "You know," Jim says slowly, "that could work." "You're kidding." McCoy stops in the middle of piling lab cultures into the incubator and looks back over his shoulder at Jim. "You're not kidding. Oh God." "No, no, think about it," Jim says. He's sitting on the edge of an unoccupied exam table, legs swinging freely, eyes narrowing as he thinks. "We'd have to go about it exactly right way, but that would totally work." "I was joking, Jim." McCoy rubs his temples, making a pained face. "And it was a stupid joke." Jim absently waves that away. "But how would we—? No, too obvious. Hmm." McCoy shakes his head and turns to finish his stacking. "Moreover, that joke got old a hundred years ago. Hell, it was old six months after first contact." "It's timeless," Jim argues, warming to his topic. "A classic. The problem is the delivery. There's no way he won't notice if I spike his soup with cocoa powder or try to slip him a Hershey's kiss." "Jim, you've tried every cockamamie thing under the sun," McCoy grumbles, slamming the hatch shut. "All of which were complete disasters, what makes you think—" "I thought the secret admirer thing was going just fine," Jim says defensively. "Normal secret admirers do not give their secret admirees fancy underwear and bright red silicone replicas of their penis, Jim!" "Stylish, yet daring," Jim says, like he's quoting from a catalogue, and McCoy jams his hands into his hair. "Did you miss the part where he stopped opening the packages and just tipped them right into the incinerator?" "Maybe too daring," Jim concedes. "Here's a bright idea! Why not try, I don't know, being direct about what you want? You sure as hell aren't shy." "I could be shy." McCoy snorts. "Even by Orion standards, you're not shy." "Whatever. We've been over this," Jim says, leaning forward. "If I go right up and ask him, I'll get a long, slow No that takes twenty minutes and an itemized list to explain in excruciating detail why pursing a relationship would be illogical. The only way this happens is if I can get him intrigued enough— or drunk enough— to give me a chance. Being direct is— is—" Suddenly his face transforms. "Bones! That's it!" "Oh, no," McCoy says, leveling a finger at him. "I know that look. That look means missing teeth and skin grafts." Jim jumps off the table. "That was one time, can you please just let it go and focus on this? I have a plan." "Of course you do," McCoy groans. "I can tell you now, my lab and sickbay are off-limits. No telling the hobgoblin that he's, I don't know, got a rare disease that can only be cured by immediate ingestion of xantheose." "That's actually not half-bad, Bones, I'm proud of you. But no." Jim's grin is wide and a shade wicked. "I won't have to hide the chocolate at all. It's Valentine's Day and half-shifts for everyone tomorrow, and the stuff's already all over the rec rooms. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect set-up. All it needs is a little… competition."

I’m in the middle of a Triumvirate oriented 5&1 (5 times Spock and Kirk went all protective over McCoy, and one time he got fed up and proved he darn well doesn’t need y’all’s coddling, thanks very much), but have nothing but notes scribbled as of yet. Hopefully in a few days? And just for awesome you, I will write as borderline-gen as it gets with me. :)

YES. YES TO THIS AWESOME 5&1!!!! I would easily take McCoy-centric fic from you as a substitute! Heck, it IS a substitute! It would make me just as happy! :D

*stares at this comment* *sighs* You know I’m going to haunt my friends’ page until this story is posted, right? (No pressure or anything… :P)

*cringe* I actually am doing some minor writing on the side as a freelancer and getting paid for it, and unfortunately I forgot about a deadline I had (tomorrow…actually, today, since it’s after midnight now) for a writing assignment and had to scramble all day yesterday and today to get it finished after I worked 9 hours at my RL job. :[ I will have time tonight, however, when I get home, and fully intend to work on it. Sorry! :(((((( *would much rather be writing Trek than vocabulary sentences for bratty high schoolers*

Soooo, I got 3,000 words ish into it and suddenly realized I was channeling AOS, not TOS. So will have to go back and adjust my whole first section. :[ But I have a definite goal now, and hope to make some massive headway (enough to post a bit of it at least) by Thursday!

            • writer_klmeri

:D Sometimes one can write AOS eerily similar to their TOS counterparts and not even realize it. I did that in my story Win or Lose in the first chapter, and readers were like, totally picturing TOS Jim, Spock, and Bones here! LOL. So it became doubly important to slip in some AOS coloring in the later chapters. You can do that – only backwards? – if you want. I hope you know I don’t mind at all whether it’s AOS or TOS, though if I absolutely had to choose I would pick TOS simply because that’s what you represent in my mind – superb old school Trek! PS: I’m really looking forward to it but please don’t feel you have to meet a deadline! In all likelihood all I will be doing the rest of this week is sleeping every chance I get. My first winter cold finally caught with me!

              • kcscribbler

I got two sections done to my satisfaction (about 6K words) and then hit a major roadblock. Did go ahead and post the first one and will have the second up tomorrow after work and a quick proofread. More soon. :) Hope you’re feeling better! *hugs*

                • writer_klmeri

You know what, forget what I said about posting it when it’s done. I have had such a hellacious day on top of being sick, no make that a hellacious WEEK, that I really just need something good in my life right now.

I have to admit I bailed on ST for a little while and delved into Sherlock and got stuck there. I need to play some catch up now because I’ve read most of what’s worth reading with Sherlock. At least all the long stuff anyway

    • writer_klmeri

Hey, it’s all good! I am glad you feel like popping back into the ST fandom to see what’s going on, though. I love to see familiar faces!

      • tigergir11333

Always happy to come back! I still drift back to HP every once in awhile. I guess I need some original content! Waiting til May for the next Star Trek Movie. No clue on the next Sherlock due to the Hobbit Mega-Clusterfuck of too many movies. (I’ll still be there to watch them though)

Yeah, I’ve been checking KCS’ fanfiction.net page rather frequently too :) A new McCoy story! I did squeak when I read it :p Freakizimi
