Well, I kinda failed here. The story had to be broken into three parts, and the third part is still under construction, so to speak. It has been written but not edited in the least. It should be posted tomorrow, May 6th, or the day after. Part I and II are up, though!

:/ Sorry!!!

I can’t begin to tell you how excited I am to see the progress you are making with this story. More of our boys is never a bad thing. Lol..Jim is Pike’s protector.

too funny….Jim is fiercely protective when it comes to his loved ones. God help the person who he perceives as being threatening in the least towards Pike or Bones. Jim’s violent reaction towards Jonathan was classic don’t fuck with my loved ones or else…

At this point, it’s become a little more complicated than Jim wanting to protect his father. But I’ve got a bunch of people trying to fix the problem! That counts for something, right? Even if Jim stays stubborn?

I see…is it something to do with Jim and his abandonment issues? Or maybe it is Jonathan himself rather than the fact that Jim doesn’t want anyone dating his father…mmm..quite the mystery going here. Don’t feel obligated to answer this question or any others I may have about this interesting plot twist…no pressure intended No worries..I am confident that the finished product will be just as well done as all your past works.

It’s a mixture of the above, really, and also some expected ‘issues’ a child might have if his parent suddenly starts dating. I’m trying to sort through the nuances and show that even if everything can’t be addressed, the environment is healthy enough that those involved should be able to persevere over their troubles some day. At least that’s my goal. Of course, Jim could just snap and ‘take care’ of the problem permanently. Because of Archer’s infuriating sense of humor, that’s a distinct possibility. :/

I like the direction you are taking with this situation. I think that Bones can be a positive influence and that Pike certainly loves his boy enough to hash it out with him..even if they just agree to disagree. Hey anyone who can call his father on Christmas Eve from jail is secure in the knowledge that you can say whatever is on your mind without worries..

Hey anyone who can call his father on Christmas Eve from jail is secure in the knowledge that you can say whatever is on your mind without worries.. Good point! I think what really intrigues me about Jim in this ‘verse is that while he isn’t as unstable as he would be otherwise because he did have someone like Pike to love him, he also hasn’t been forced to a high level of maturity by the time he’s 24. Again, I think this is because he’s been allowed to act like a kid, so the rough edges aren’t there yet. Reminds me of the Jim from my Riverside ‘verse. That Kirk had an adoring Winona to raise him. He was really pretty mellow and sweet most of the time.

I agree with your point about Jim being allowed to act like a kid and that at age 24 he still has a lot of maturing to do, however I think that you have addressed this issue..because if I recall correctly…Jim has been trying to get Pike to stop being so over involved/protective of him. He moved away to college and I recall several conversations Jim had with Pike where he gently reminded his dad to basically stop smothering him. Some definite self awareness going on here..as to whether it is enough to keep the damage to Jonathan to a minimum..IDK

no problem..I’m off for the night but I do look forward to your latest chapter being posted. And please don’t hesitate to ask for input or whatever..I enjoy the intellectual stimulation… Countdown to the movie is 15 days and counting…I can’t wait
