“The other cast members weren’t slouches either. One day, during a particularly intense confrontation between McCoy and Spock, DeForest Kelley leaned forward and kissed Leonard Nimoy on the nose. Leonard just stared at him, shocked, then realized what he had done and broke up.
But it didn’t end there. They couldn’t do a retake. Every time Leonard got close to DeForest and looked him in the eye, he broke up laughing again. And the effect was contagious. Pretty soon no one on the set could keep a straight face. Leonard and De were too conscious of their nose-to-nose position, they couldn’t stay in character long enough to do the shot. Finally, Joe Pevney, the director, gave up. They had to move to another set and pick up some other shots.”
WHY WASN’T THIS IMMEDIATELY MADE PART OF THE SCRIPT????!
Raise your hand if you would have paid good money to see McCoy kiss Spock on the nose.
Kelley recalls: “When I was doing the series, I was quite a bit huskier…and Shatner was always with the barbells, and he’d come in [flexing and posing], and every day when I got off, I’d go and take the makeup off, and you strip to the waist and get all this stuff off. I’d come back through. He’d be sitting in his little chair, you know…I’d flex, and I’d walk by him every day. One day he says “Look, cracker-ass, why don’t you knock that off?”…I called him bubble-butt.”

Raises hand to even seen just a hint of this in the new movie INTD and would have paid to see bones kiss jim on the nose ala karl and chris. I sometimes work up a hatred of what they did to these guys in INTD…I calm down but it sure upsets me out they didn’t use a character driven story line.
I rewatched it this afternoon, and when a friend of mine started to comment about something I stopped her and said, “Just don’t. If you get me started, we’ll be here ’til the new year. Let’s just watch it.” That’s the best stance I can take. Watch the movie for what it is (and all its flaws). Yeah, it can leave a lot to be desired in some parts but at least I get to see Chris and Karl and company. It’s given me a few things to think on and how I want to fix them/see them fixed to suit my headcanon in the months to come. :)
I’ll be home tomorrow evening and will most likely watch it then. …and yeah i agree with you…don’t get me starte… I just don’t understand how anyone in their right mind does not see the chemistry that jim and bones have…please don’t be so blind next time and you JJ….stay far away from this movie plot..i think he is intimating that he has a bigger influence on the direction the next movie will take. me personally i don’t know what the official story line is but i feel as though JJ was backhanded out of the directors chair… with the 50th coming up and the new movie timed to debut with it…i so want to see j/b/s and seriously i don’t know if there is enough medicine in the world to calm me down if they dis bones like they did this time around I am just going to hold out hope that things will get better …and so …hang in there ..but ouch this shit hurts.
