I am in Airport Hell. This is why I go out of my way to avoid the Atlanta airport. It’s chaos. Complete chaos.
I woke in Paris at 6 this morning, took a 10-hour flight into Houston. Was delayed for over an hour in Houston due to bad weather. Finally, I make it to Atlanta only to find out that they have cancelled my final flight entirely. Next one isn’t until tomorrow. I’ll be damned if I stay in this city for much longer! So I re-scheduled to Charlotte, NC (which I wanted to go thru in the first place, but I didn’t book my tickets) only no flights are leaving until at least 11 pm tonight. Count all those hours, including the 6-hour difference in time and… SHIT.
Why am I still functioning?
Luckily my father–bless his heart–is making a two-hour drive to Charlotte at midnight to come get me. It’s moments like these that remind me that he really can come through in a pinch. I’d offered to rent a car and drive, but I think both my parents know how dead tired I am.
As for work tomorrow? Yeah right. I’ll try to go after lunch.
Why am I telling you this? Because I have been trying to update Come Hither and Welcome like I normally do. I wrote most of the next part on my previous flight, but when I will be able to post it, not until tomorrow or the next day. Forgive me!! I will reiterate: I am in Airport Hell. :(
Update: Finally got into Charlotte about 1 am. Of course, they didn’t have my luggage. I knew they wouldn’t; ATL airport just isn’t competent enough.
Regardless, I am going to do a quick post of Part Three. Enjoy. I’m going to bed now!

Wow. I’ve heard horror stories of airports but I’ve never had to deal with them. I’m sorry you had to go through all of that and I’m glad you’re home safe.
