More TW – It’s Not Like I’m Obsessed or Anything

Stupid brain would not let me sleep last night because it couldn’t rest until it made sense of the things ( *coughplotholescough*) in the show. Good news is that next week is the mid-season finale so there will be close to a five-month break before I have to get caught up in the madness that is Teen Wolf.

When people say, “It was supposed to be a stupid show about werewolves!” they are simply expressing their confusion, like me, as to how MTV to managed to get us all hooked. Is it the shirtless guys? Stiles’ sarcasm? IDK.

Anyway, for those who care

1. The Darach, aka Jennifer “Evil” Blake, took Scott’s mom. I wasn’t shocked because I had already called that like the week prior to that episode. I will admit I didn’t equate Guardians to parents at the time, though. It just seemed like the typical TW plot to make Scott choose between who to save.

2. I now believe the Darach took the parents of Stiles, Scott, and Allison BECAUSE they are single parents and, more importantly, because that it means the kids would be desperate enough to sacrifice themselves rather than lose their only parent. Otherwise she would have killed each parent one-by-one and wanted to use her superpowers gained from the killings to get the Alphas. So it has to be that she wants the idiots to finish the final step for her. Willing sacrifices are more powerful anyway, right?

3. Peter Hale. Why is nobody concerned about this man? They’ve downplayed him the entire season and we know he’s bad news. So yesterday, after seeing his plotting face as he gave Derek all the options for saving Cora, I just know his endgame is different than everybody’s. If there ever was a werewolf who wanted power, it has been always Peter. We saw that Deucalion had a good side before Gerard stabbed his eyes out. But Peter, even in flashbacks, has been running on ulterior motives and subtle puppet-mastering. So, yeah. He wants his Alpha status back. I believe that. And I also believe before the ending is over, he might be one. What better time to kill an Alpha than at the side of an insanely powerful Darach?

4. Cora. Oh my god, why? Except now I know. She was a plot device all along to get Derek to lose his Alpha status in order to clear the plotty way for Scott the True Alpha, which by the way is a horrible idea. Scott may be a better student this season but he’s not winning any best friend awards and he’s been friends with Stiles forever. That just tells me he isn’t ready to be an Alpha, no more than Derek was. I’d rather see Derek grow into his position of power. Anyway, I guess it makes me mad that Cora shows up out of nowhere after she’s technically been dead for years and then proceeds to become a tool against Derek.

5. The Stiles/Lydia kiss. It was smart thing for Lydia to do at the time even though it’s a terrible thing to do in general to a person having a panic attack because it had just the tiniest chance of working. Stiles has had a crush on her since third grade. You can’t tell me it wouldn’t have shocked him into holding his breath. So Lydia, not being a doctor, grasped at a straw and it worked. Anyway, I still don’t believe it means anything romantic is coming for these two, kiss or no kiss. They’ve moved into friendship territory, and it seems to be working great for them. I’d hate to see that ruined.

6. Officially we have a reason to think of Beacon Hills as a “beacon” for the supernatural. Took you long enough to write that in, Mr. Davis, except why did you feel you have to have three teenagers commit suicide in the process? And even though they’ll live, they’ll be tainted for life? Thanks so much.

End of my thoughts here, for now.
