My f-list is amazing. Truly. Thanks to everyone’s support, encouragement and good advice, I have kicked down a decent portion of that writer’s block wall and am churning out Story again. I am going to make that deadline! *fist pump of DOOM*

I can also honestly tell you that what results from this little venture will make you question my sanity. (So as not to terrify anybody unknowingly I will post warnings abound.) It’s a leap of faith, one I hope not to go WHAARRRGGGHH! SPLAT! at the end of. So maybe somebody at the bottom could set up a trampoline or something, just in case?

space_wrapped fairy tale: Of House Guests and Winter Twins
Summary: He wants to be human, she wants to be him, and only the man caught between both can set them free.
Word Count: 13518
Posting Date: December 4th
Complete By Date: November 30th
Progress: 50%-ish?
Prognosis: writer has lost her mind… oh wait, that’s diagnosis
Goal: quit fairy tales like a bad habit

Here is a detailed break-down so I can see what needs work the most:

Part I
Stuff I Can’t Name – 4047
The Fey Child – 298
The Tailor and the Maiden – 1622
The Beast – 1756
Part II
More Stuff I Can’t Name – 1002
The Invisible Prince – 3113
The Snow Girl and the Red Wren – 822
The Winter Twins – 858

… And “needs work” is just about everything. WHOA CRAP.

Trampoline, people, trampoline!! <--See? Sense of humor has returned. ;)

You’re making headway! That’s awesome. And I am loving the summary of that first one. I am so excited to see what the finished product will look like~!

Thank you! I am feeling better, like I can finish it. The characters weren’t talking to me and I thought the world was going to end. Then I picked up on the be-calm vibes from everybody and tried to be more receptive to what’s floating around out there. If I’m lucky, it will keep coming. I almost wish I could ask you if I’m stepping over the bounds in what I’m going to put out there (I’ve waffled over this several times), but I can’t bring myself to spoil the surprise. The good news is, if it is out-of-bounds, I can separate the meat of the story from the shell. Mostly. LOL.

Good! I’m glad to hear it. Yeah, it’s amazing what trying to hard does to receptive skills. A calm, clear mind is the best way to be creative. Just take a step back every now and then and you’ll do just fine. There’s no such thing as out-of-bounds quite honestly. There’s levels of extreme that most people can’t handle but that just puts those stories in to a small niche category. It’s good to push boundaries, challenge the perspectives of the reader and yourself. And honestly it’s not so much of what you say but how you say it. And even then… the point I am weaving to is write what you want and fuck everything else. It’ll work out. Also, in response to your last comment: I’m just glad to help! And I’m glad that you found my advice helpful enough to keep around! Also, feel free to come talk to me if you ever need someone to listen about anything.
