12Can someone recommend a good McCoy-kicking-butt or doing what he does best and totally saving the day fic? I don’t care which fandom it’s from (TOS or AOS), or pairings or lack thereof or even if the fic’s a crossover. I’m just feeling a desperate need for a good McCoy story!
PS: Yes, I am working on ACAS (Along Comes a Stranger), if a bit slowly. Never fear, an update will be here soon. Just… it’s a delicate process killing off a “good” character. :/

OMG, is this where Bones is on some starbase or something missing Jim (and Jim missing Bones on the Enterprise) and then it gets invaded and he crawls through an air duct while bleeding? Jim is freaking out because he’s late to the rescue… and GUH, I LOVE THIS STORY. It’s one of the first fics I read coming into the fandom. It’s so memorable, obviously, because I haven’t forgotten it. Thank you, and yes this is the kind of McCoy fic I’m looking for. :D If you remember those others, let me know!
I can’t remember which one it was but the Enterprise is attacked by a Romulan ship and McCoy ends up saving the day by questioning the Romulan leader’s honor. It’s a McCoy/Spock story.
Okay, now I really really want to read this story. Do you remember where you might have read it? From a comm or kink meme or website in particular?

It’s 200,000 words and I’ve always been a K/S fan, but not read any in years, but THIS…this was so good I can only think Kirk/McCoy in reboot, McCoy being my favorite character in that universe. Someone rec’d this to me as a good story in and of itself. It was with trepidation that I started it…then I couldn’t put it down…then I couldn’t stop thinking about those two characters.
