Thank You

You all are the best, really. Thank you on behalf of both my mother and myself. And thank you again to those people sending me Amazon Gift cards. I just don’t know what to say except THANK YOU FOREVER AND EVER. I never expected any gifts and I am simply amazed at the generosity and caring of everyone. How did I get so lucky to have met you?

Turns out Mom broke her shoulder. It’s her left arm which is the one she broke 23 years ago, and we count ourselves lucky it was only the shoulder. Not her hips or legs or… I can’t begin to imagine how we would cope with that. Suffice to say, we do not know yet if she will need surgery or the bone doctor (oh, Bones, what I would do to have you and your advanced technology right now…) will simply want her to keep her arm in a sling for several weeks and let it heal on its own. Regardless, we are currently struggling a little (not to mention winding down from all the shock and whatnot) to get used to the difficulty of being one-armed. As she says, she is 57 and not exactly as spry as she used to be. I’m grateful at this point that her attitude seems intact. Weary but “what can we do but deal?”

I am exhausted but I can’t sleep. Tomorrow, sadly, I am going back to work for at least a half day. This is the end of SOX testing (I’m an auditor, haha) and crunch-time so to speak. Never mind that I’m a temp, right? Or that I’ve completed 85% of the overall testing up to this point though there are two other auditors. (They call it learning experience; I call it lazy co-workers.) Oh well, I’ll be needing the money now anyway.

This weekend… sleeping, house cleaning for safety factor, possibly trying one last time to revive my hard drive. I don’t know. I really just want somebody to cuddle with right now. Ah, the downside of being single. I guess this explains the popularity of the body pillow?

There’s my little bit of pity party. It feels good to get it out. I think I’ll try to sleep now. I intend not to be a victim of ill-fortune tomorrow. There simply isn’t time for that!

belated comment is belated but *hugs* I’m sure your mum’s gonna heal fine. If it helps, my grandma’s 80 and in the past year or so she’s broken a bone near her shoulder, her wrist, fractured a few bones by her ankle and ruined her achille’s tendon.. All from simply walking or going down stairs (sadly we can’t watch her all the time nor keep her tied down to not leaving the house), and bless her, she’s recovered quite damn well. even if she refuses to wear the proper shoes or do the proper therapy. So just be sure to keep it slow and do the exercises to keep the muscle, as that’s really the hardest. *sends positive vibes your way!*
