4In an effort to follow trendy sites like tumblr and the “more like an app because we’re all mentally handicapped, it seems” design, Delicious has messed with its layout AGAIN. It was bad enough that they were in the habit of making handy new tools (like stacks) only to take them away a month or two later.
I am beyond pissed, y’all. All of the effort I made in adding fic summaries for easy browsing has been rendered useless. From what I can tell, if you don’t have a Delicious account you can’t see the summaries unless they display as a “comment” in the right-hand side bar. Which worked only four out of the dozen times I’ve tested it. Tags – yes, they are consistently visible. But what does that help without a freaking fic summary?

Maybe it wouldn’t be so awful if I wasn’t already maintaining TWO archives with 300+ bookmarks each. I might as well delete them now. No point in me trying to be helpful to fans like myself. :(

I switched to pinboard for Buckleup… looks like I will have to get an account for myself as well. *sighs* Why do sites always try to fix what isn’t broken?
How different is pinboard than delicious?
https://pinboard.in/u:buckleup It has no ads, you can import/export your book makes, you get a cloud of bookmarks instead of a box, frequently used tags are bolded, easier to find tags… You do have to pay a one time fee though. https://pinboard.in/howto/ They have not had any significant downtime since I started to use it for Buckleup a year ago and have not made any unnecessary changes. You click a tag to search for the tag (within your pinboard) and then click on the + sign beside any other tag to add it to the search to help refine the search. I hope that helped. (I sometimes suck at explaining.)
