11Work has all but killed my writing brain this week. :( It’s times like these that I want to say, “Day job, I quit you. Don’t you know how important my hobby is to my sanity?”
I came home after work and crawled straight into bed, nixing any tentative plans for tonight. So currently I’ve just woken up and am piddling around on the ‘net for an hour – then it’s back to bed again. Honestly, will this week never end?
And why do I have to have not one, not two, but FOUR audits due on Monday? Some certain External Auditors (Who Shall Not be Named) have ants in their pants about wrapping up the 2012 revenue testing, and they keep stopping by my desk asking “Is it ready yet? Is it ready yet? How come we can’t get this faster?” My answer to that is…
You gave it to me LAST WEEK. A normal audit takes three to four weeks, especially when I have to send out documentation requests across the US. So I’ve been clenching my teeth and smiling at the Guys I Want to Yell At and fielding calls from poor auditees who go, “But you give us at least three weeks to get the stuff together! It’s month-end closing!” *sob panic sob*
I know, my dears. We’re all having a little freak out.

I have a real problem with your employer…Because seriously, don’t they understand that your hobby helps keep you sane and when you are sane then all of your fans can feel sane..then the families of your fans can sleep at night secure in the knowledge all is well.
LOL, no they don’t. I have a job at one of those places where work is the end-all, be-all. You should stay until 9 at night if need be because your career is your life. The only good life about it is that the company compensates you handsomely if you do. Thanks for making me laugh, though!

Don’t they know they are messing with the fate of our world…is it possible that your RL job is going to influence sam’s life altering decisions. Dammit, death to all because of audits needing to get done
… I guess there is some merit to this statement. I will try to avoid having him commit suicide because of sudden corporate asshatery by Starfleet Command – honest, I will! Good news is today Leonard and Sam talked to me a little. Bad news is I’m struggling to write any of it down!
{{massive glomping tackle HUGS}} oh, hon! bad week, bad bad week, for making you so miserable. i hope this coming week will be ten thousand times better for you. you know, for situations like the one you describe above, we really need some Trek tech. i’m talking phasers. not the kind that stun or kill. nothing damaging or pain-inflicting. special phasers, i mean. ones that, when you point them at a flailing individual who’s threatening your zen, they instantly become competent, reliable, confident and calm under pressure and ready & willing to shoulder their share of the work burden. yep. we need those. in the meantime, hang in there, hon! i’m keeping you in my thoughts and sending happy, creative, stress-busting vibes your way.
