Calling the Expertise of Doctor Who

Not joking here, y’all. Either I’m losing my mind or the approach of Star Trek Into Darkness is such a cosmic event it’s causing time to fluctuate.

Let me explain. I had a business trip last Thursday and Friday, and didn’t make it home until late Saturday evening. Somehow I’d acquired a cold during that venture and so I pretty much passed out the moment I fell into my bed. I didn’t notice anything unusual Sunday (again, sick and exhausted are not the best combination). So it was on Monday that I encountered the unusual. I woke up in time to turn off my alarm clock by the bedside and start my morning routine. At the point where I was back in my bedroom deciding on what to wear for the day I had turned on my tablet. That’s when I noticed the alarm clock didn’t agree with the tablet—or rather, the tablet said it was exactly thirty minutes earlier than I thought it was. Cellphone confirmed the tablet’s time was accurate. I’ll admit, I was puzzled but it was Monday morning, which means an extra thirty minutes was a godsend. I spent those minutes doing some house chores I had ignored that weekend. I didn’t fix the alarm clock and only gave brief contemplate to how it could have changed itself. I live alone and I doubt anyone was in my house over the weekend just to play a trick on me. Also it would seem more likely for the clock to be off by a few minutes instead of something precise like half an hour. It doesn’t plug into the wall so nix the idea of power outages.

Anyway, I came home from work yesterday (still sick, mind you) and decided to call it an early night. The alarm clock said 7:30 when I climbed into the bed. The cellphone said 7:00. Again, me being lazy, I didn’t bother with the difference. I woke up sometime around 2 in the morning. Well, the alarm clock said 2 am. Again, the cellphone confirmed it was actually around 1:30 am.

Later I woke up at my regular time, even if it meant I was ahead of schedule, to start my morning routine. Since I’m paranoid about being late to work, I checked the time on my tablet after my shower.

WRONG.

The tablet’s clock cheerfully agreed with the alarm clock. The cellphone cheerfully agreed with its buddies, Mr. Tablet and Mr. Alarm Clock. Mr. Alarm Clock had somehow regained the PROPER hour and minutes.

Cue me being stumped. Has Tony Stark gotten a hold of the electronic and given it a bad sense of humor? Or maybe there’s going to be a guest appearance by Kirk Prime from the Nexus at the end of STXII and, being such a major event in the fandom time-continuum, it’s affecting my real life time-continuum.

IDK.

Does anybody have one of those phones with a direct line to the Doctor? This problem seems right up his alley.
