Yeah, so when I drag my butt into work in the morning and they look at the circles under my eyes and wonder what the heck I did all last night…
Imma gonna say I did McCoy. :P
Still working on him but he’s shaping up nicely.
But geez, y’all, pumpkin carving is HARD.

Particularly that style of carving. But it’s shaping up great!
Thanks! And oh yeah, there’s no way I could imagine being an expert pumpkin carver. Have you seen the picture of the Enterprise carving with an amazing planetscape behind the ship? :/ How do people even… begin on that thing? Good news is I am heading over to photoshop to play around with Karl’s face. :D
Eeee! Awesome! And yeah, there is some serious skill required to be good at this. There’s some on Reddit that are mind boggling.
I’m having a really difficult time deciding which of Karl’s expressions I liked best. I might have to go with pouty.
my niece who is eleven is pumpkin carving tomorrow…I am the ‘helper’ but she wants to do it freehand design..so I will let you know what she comes up with… great job, lady….I love DE
Thank you! The funny thing is, unlit, it looks NOTHING like De’s face. And then you stick a candle in it and go, “Huh. That might be him after all.”
how did you do this? free style…tracing?
This is from a stencil I printed out. I think it’s the standard McCoy one. I started by marking the lines the end of a penknife but that got old fast so I ended up drawing the rest with one of my scrapbook pens. Black ink is so much easily to see than tiny indentations.
interesting…i ‘ll let you know what we come up with…she is just going to do whatever comes to mind….both sides of the pumpkin if she has enough patients…lol
