By reader-request, I will tell you a little background on this author named KLMeri.
She is a born-and-bred Southern (that somehow lacks an accent) who recently turned 25 years old. Two months ago last year, she passed her thesis defense and earned a MS in Mathematics. That day couldn’t come soon enough because she had burned herself out in graduate school (turned down the PhD program to save her sanity). Since then her brain has been in rehab–and sort of flips itself off whenever she thinks too hard.
On the other hand, the job market is terrible and so she hasn’t started her career either. Don’t ask about teaching–it’s never been an option, despite that she has student evaluations to prove she’s pretty good at it (and teaching college students is tough). Instead, she wiles away her time working a long-term temp job that doesn’t stress her brain. Which also means she is bored-out-of-her-mind quite often.
Hence, the writing.
She adores books and learning, lives in Photoshop, has a deep abiding love for music (every kind imaginable), and gets her kicks doing the Argentine tango. She’s the kind of person that rises at 5:30 am to hit the gym before work because she hates afternoon crowds with a passion.
KLMeri is a pragmatist who plays by the rules of Life. So it’s in her dreams–and her writing–that she goes a little wild.
Oh and, she has to firmly resist the urge to have Spock start spouting mathematical theorems every time she gets to his lines. LJ does not read LaTeX code very well. :(

may I say that I’m quite happy that your brain is bored so you write? reading your pieces, I found out that I’m a bit – a huge bit – selfish :) after all it’s a pleasure reading what you write :) and it would have been interesting seeing Spock spouting mathematical theorems.. I have this strange idea that it would have been very sexy :)
